Emily's costume and corset series explore the garment as a stand-in for the figure, implying the body without specifying an identity. The body shape is interesting and evocative, playful yet symbolic. These oil paintings often include fabric or other mixed media elements which provide a textural break from the painting, and affirm the inherent reference to fashion.
